Fun for all at the Royal Berkshire Show

Come rain and shine, we’ve had a fabulous time at the show this weekend.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the Royal Berkshire Show, it was so lovely to share the fun of the show with you all!

The glorious weather on Saturday made for a perfect day out with the family, and show goers revelled in the joys of the fun-fair on the village green in real Clarence Court style. Mums and dads sat back and enjoyed canapes and a glass of champagne, while children tried their luck on the first ostrich egg shy Berkshire had ever seen or competed against their siblings in the egg and spoon race. Despite the drizzly weather on Sunday, the rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits with even Newbury Air Cadets joining us for an egg and spoon race!

Our birds were of course the stars of the stand, catching the attention of passers-by from toddlers to grandparents, while our freshly-laid ostrich eggs certainly got their fair share of oohs and ahhs!

Team Egg’s Eva Humphires (AKA the Wholefood Warrior) put on a fantastic show in the Cookery theatre, sharing her tips and tasty delights using our Burford Browns and quail eggs, while Pip Spence crowned a keen baker the winner of the Best Victoria Sponge competition. Many of you took home recipe cards which we can’t wait for you to try and we will soon be announcing the winner of our Fortnums hamper.
