6. Why do free range eggs taste so much better?
There is little doubt about the difference in the taste of free range compared with barn or caged eggs because:
A well kept free range hen is hardier and healthier, both physically and psychologically, with more muscle and stronger bones than a confined bird. A tougher, fitter bird produces stronger shelled, superior eggs with a denser texture, which are better for cooking. The fresh air, insects and vegetation in the free-range diet improves the flavour and yolk colour.
Our birds are from old pure breed bloodlines, which, unlike the modern hybrids, were bred for egg quality and not quantity.
