2. Do you add something to the feed to get the shells different colours?

It is quite amazing that so many people ask this question....why shouldn't a chicken lay coloured eggs? Other birds do; in fact very few wild birds lay brown eggs.

The origins of our Old Cotswold Legbars can be traced back to South America where quite a large percentage of hens can be found laying blue or green eggs - so the colour is in the genes of the bird, not in the feed.
